Octopus poem

For literacy we read a poem called Octopus.

We talked about language features. Some language features we found were verbs, nouns and adjectives.

What I found difficult was finding the adjectives in the poem because I´m still learning about them.

Next time I need to use the language features toolbox to remind me about what adjectives are.

MATARIKI

For reading we did Matariki on google drawing.

We got the book matariki and copied it in put it in our google drawing.

What I found difficult was Coping it and putting it in to our google drawing.

Next time i need to be quicker and stop talking to other people.

holiday recount

During the holidays my friends and family and I went riding.

We were 

First my mum and I and my brothers hopped in the truck and my dad, Nikau,Ups,Joalsen, D-r-dre and the others jumped on their bikes and we left.

Then we got to moerewa. We went to the shop and then went to the park and we left for my uncle. 40 minutes later we were driving and saw them and ups sprocid come off. 

Next we went to get the trailer and then came back and put the bike on the trailer and left and saw them going past then we got to the end of the road and went back to kaikohe.

Lastly we got back and we went to drop off the bikes and left to go home and we parked the bikes up and we went to have a shower and went to sleep.

Public vs Private Info

We are learning about our digital footprint.

We talked about private and public information.

I learned not to give your address.

I already knew not to tell people where you live and not give them your phone number.

We were learning about last term Blake NZ visited.

We learned about marine reserves.

we were able to use VR

sets to explore the oceans.

I found it easy to learn about how to protect the ocean

because the VR sets made it interesting.

                                                

We really enjoyed working together and finding information.

Next time we need to work harder and need more information.

clickety-clack cicada

This week we read Clickety-Clack Cicada by Jill Brasell.

We found it easy to identify some of the language features such as metaphor, onomatopoeia, and verbs.

We found it hard to locate the nouns because it is an area we think we need to work on more.

We really enjoyed learning about metaphors because they make the story more

interesting and help to create an image in our mind about what the author is trying to tell us.

Next time we need to work on discussing the poem more and sharing our ideas.

I found it easy to do the pictures. My favourite picture is the squares.

I found it hard to find the metaphors and verbs.

I really enjoyed the whole thing.

Next time I need to put a little bit more effort in my work.

Learning narrative.

our class has been rewriting a book that has all ready been Rewritten and this is what I did.

We are learning to write a narrative using adjectives.

One sunny afternoon mother horse took her ponies to the apple tree to look for some delicious apples.

Mother horse saw a big hungry tiger and mother horse galloped away from her ponies.

 the mother horse started limping, her leg looked broken.

The big hungry tiger saw the mother horse but did not see the ponies.

The big hungry tiger ran after the mother horse.

Mother horse's leg was not broken so she booted the tiger and galloped away.

Happy to be back with her ponies.
